Dr. Stephen Reck, Ophthalmologist

Dr. Stephen Reck graduated cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross. He was commissioned as a naval officer and served aboard a nuclear-powered attack submarine. During this time he was awarded three navy Achievement Medals and two Meritorious Unit Commendations. Dr. Reck is a graduate of the prestigious University of Michigan Medical school, where he also completed internship in internal medicine, residency in ophthalmology, and fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery.

Dr. Reck specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgery, employing state-of-the art technologies, such as laser-assisted cataract surgery, micro-incision, no-stitch cataract surgery, astigmatism correcting lens implants, and multifocal lens implants. He also specializes in glaucoma surgery, such as glaucoma laser treatments, and glaucoma bypass procedures including trabeculectomy, tube implants, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, such as the iStent implant. Dr. Reck has published several scholarly papers in medical journals and participated in several FDA clinical trials. Dr. Reck has previously served as assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, and currently serves as a clinical instructor of family medicine residents at providence St. Peter Hospital.

Dr. Reck and his wife, Dr. Penny Reck and their children live in Olympia where they enjoy skiing, golfing, and hiking.
