i see black spots that float around in my vision
Most chronic "floaters" or black spots are not dangerous. However, if you notice a sudden onset of black spots, a full retinal examination should be scheduled immediately. They can be an indicator of retinal detachment. In some cases, they are due to an ocular migraine headache.
